Participants in the “I Am Awesome! (And I Know It!)” self-esteem retreat for young women tried their hand at drawing a “blind” self portrait on Friday during the visual arts workshop with Thunder Bay artist Crystal Nielsen. The four-day retreat, held at Sunny Cove, offered girls aged 11-16 a weekend to nurture and develop self-esteem while exploring areas such as positive body image, peer pressure, confidence building, exploring emotions, and more through a variety of workshops and activities.
