Seeds of Hope

Gord and Bev Sisco, left, and Randy and Carole Wilde, middle, were hard at work at Rainycrest Long-Term Care Home on Thursday, June 9 planting Forget-Me-Not seeds as part of the Alzheimer Society of Canada’s Seeds of Hope campaign. Meanwhile, Molly Crozier, right, braved the inclement weather in Emo on June 24 to do her part at Emo Long-Term Care. The Forget-Me-Not is the official flower of the Alzheimer Society of Canada, and the organization distributed the seeds to help raise awareness and become a symbol of hope for all those whose lives are touched by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Alzheimer Society of Kenora-Rainy River client services co-ordinator Mary O’Connor was working alongside the participants, crossing the district over the course of a few weeks to help deliver the seeds and raise awareness.
