J.W. Walker student Logan Morris tested strips yesterday to determine the source of a simulated “outbreak” in the class. The science lesson investigating epidemics was taught by Lakehead University staffers Mary Chang and Brenda Magajna through the “BioTrek” program, which is funded by the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council. The program allows educators to travel to schools throughout Northwestern Ontario to teach students about biotechnology.
