A 34-year-old man from Fort Frances surrendered to police and was taken into custody around 9:35 a.m. today after he had barricaded himself in a residence on the 200 block of Second Street East just after 10 p.m. last night. A police perimeter remained up this morning until the arrest was made but all roads have since been re-opened to the public. The OPP’s Northwest Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) was called in to provide support with containing the area while the OPP Crime Unit is assisting with the investigation. No other details were released as of press time.
