The path to royalty isn’t all work and no play for the Emo Fair Queen contestants. Throughout the summer, contestants Addison Brown, Valentina Busch, Mckenna Mc-Tavish and Mickenna Ryll have been engaging in an active-living challenge, to bike, walk, swim, paddle or play their way through two kilometres per day, for the 2K-A-Day Challenge. Each kilometre earned a $2 donation from the Emo Fair Board. This year’s contestants logged 203 km, to earn a $406 donation to a local charity. The competition continues for the busy contestants. Each one is submitting a float in the Emo Fair Parade, to showcase themselves and their sponsors. They will also have an interview night, and on the night of crowning, the public is welcome to enjoy the tal-ent portion, in which each contestant has created a video submission, showcasing their unique talent. Judging for the Queen floats will take place Tuesday, August 16 at 7 p.m., at the carwash. The talent show and crowning will take place Thursday, August 18, at 7 p.m., in the Arena. Admission is $2, or show your Fair Queen button.
