Fort Frances Her-icanes’ base runner Sarah Noonan was pointed in the right direction by third base coach Aaron Caul to head for home after Dana Ward’s two-run double put the ‘Canes up 2-0 in the third inning of their Winners’ Side final against the Dawson Tigers in Rainy River District Women’s Fastball League playoff action yesterday evening at VanJura. Fort Frances went on to a 13-3 victory over the Tigers to advance to the league final, which begins Aug. 23 at VanJura. Meanwhile, the Red Gut Babes eliminated the Emo Renegades 15-10 in a Losers’ Side elimination game and now will host the Northwest Bay Beavers tomorrow at 6:30 p.m.
