Work on Portage Avenue, between First Street East and Scott Street, is now well underway after first getting started last week. Water and sewer lines will be replaced, and the road will be rebuilt along this block. Portage Avenue from Church Street to Scott Street then will be closed off for the same type of work starting Aug. 11.
