Jeff Muirhead, a Masters of Applied Science candidate in water resources engineering at the University of Waterloo, pointed to one of the sturgeon he and his fellow classmates caught during their work on the Rainy River over the past couple of months. A presentation at the Fort Frances Public Library yesterday evening, hosted by the Fort Frances Sportsmen’s Club, aimed to inform the public on the progress being made in a study that is assessing the health of the food web in the Rainy River, along with the effects that hydroelectric dam discharge practices have on the fishieries.
