Members of the public, along with local representatives of the Métis Nation of Ontario, were on hand outside the Civic Centre yesterday for a flag-raising ceremony commemorating Louis Riel Day. Riel, the most famous Métis leader in Canadian history, helped create the province of Manitoba.
