Liam Dent, a Grade 7 at St. Francis School, flexed his bicep to output an electrical signal that triggers a prosthetic hand during the school’s science fair yesterday. His project looked at which muscle group has the best output signal to trigger a prosthetic. He 3D-printed the prosthetic hand using his 3-D printer and assembled it himself. In all, Dent said he probably put 80 hours or more into his science project.
