Potato stamping

Mudmee Murrell used her potato stamp to put the rind on a watermelon at the Fort Frances Public Library yesterday as part of Community Living’s open air art studio. The usually outdoors activity was moved into the Shaw room at the library on account of yesterday’s downpour, where visitors where encouraged to use precut potatoes to stamp designs onto paper, canvas or fabric. While the studio will take a break next week due to Labour Day, organizer Faith Moen said their funding will allow them to operate well into the school year. The next open air art studio will take place on Thursday, Sept. 12.
