Planting ‘Forget Me Nots’

Mary O’Connor, client services co-ordinator for the Alzheimer Society of Kenora-Rainy River Districts, planted “Seeds of Hope” in the courtyard garden of the Special Care Unit (SCU) at Rainycrest yesterday morning. The “Forget Me Nots” she and a group of SCU residents planted will bloom there perennially, not only beautifying the courtyard with blue flowers but reminding everyone to think of all individuals with Alzheimer’s disease. The “Walk for Alzheimer’s” will be held this Saturday starting at the Sorting Gap Marina. Registration begins at 10 a.m., with a welcome and warm-up to follow at 11 a.m.
