A crew from Pioneer Paving laid some hot asphalt at the corner of Scott Street and Mowat Avenue yesterday. They were paving the areas of Scott Street that were removed for the installation of curb works for the new Rainy Lake Square, as well as a portion of the lane behind the square. Due to the temperature, some areas will not be completed this fall but will be in the spring. Meanwhile, Second Street East from Portage to Mowat recently was paved with a binder course, with the surface course to be put down in the spring. That stretch was re-opened to traffic Monday.
