The senior girls of the Border Skating Club posed with the supplies they donated to put into Christmas shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse Canada’s “Operation Christmas Child” campaign on Sunday evening. The girls donated various school supplies and other small, useful items to go into the shoeboxes and be sent to children in need in developing countries around the world. Each shoebox requires a $10 donation to cover the costs of shipping, and boxes can be picked up and dropped off at businesses and organizations around the district like The Bargain Shop, Lowery’s, Tompkins Home Hardware, Cloverleaf, and the Calvary Baptist Church. Bethel Baptist Church is also serving as a collection centre.
