Sue Freeman, left, and Patty Christian were among the nearly 800 people who flocked to Fort Frances High School yesterday for a perogie-and-meatball benefit dinner for Connie Cuthbertson. The dinner, which also featured a silent auction, raised a large amount of funds to help cover Cuthbertson’s medical expenses. Kathy Cuthbertson, who helped organize the event and prepared the food, was very happy with the community’s generous support, but apologizes for running out of food. Advance tickets sales indicated only about 250 people would be attending.
