Steve Loshaw, president of the Rainy River District Regional Abattoir Inc., addressed the huge crowd that turned out for the site’s opening ceremony yesterday. About 200 people took tours of $2-million, 3,600 sq. ft. facility, which is located on Byng St. in Emo. The abattoir will not be operating just yet, though, as some of the equipment still has to arrive and be set up.
