CN Railway locomotive engineers took to the picket line here Saturday morning, joining some 1,700 engineers who have gone on strike across the country after talks with the company came to an impasse just before midnight Friday. The company used qualified supervisors and managers to keep trains running over the weekend. As of press time today, the federal government was preparing legislation to order an end to the three-day strike immediately and send all the issues to binding arbitration.
