Sight & Sound pitcher John Desaulniers was every bit the ace his team needed him to be last night—pitching a two-hit shutout as the second-ranked Wolves blanked the third-seeded Couchiching Raiders 5-0 in the second-and-deciding game of the Rainy River District Fastball League’s East Division final at the Rodrick and Telford Bruyere Ball Field. The Wolves now face the defending champion Barwick Blue Knights, who went undefeated this season in capturing the West Division crown, in the best-of-three league final that starts there Tuesday at 6 p.m. Game 2 goes Thusrsday at VanJura, with Game 3 (if necessary) set for Sept. 13 back in Barwick.
