Daniel Vandenbrand and Jason Bazylewski walked this stone down the ice while Owen Riches looked on during the Muskie boys’ curling rink’s 5-2 win over the Atikokan Voyageurs yesterday afternoon in the opener of the NWOSSAA championships at the Fort Frances Curling Club. The trio are part of Chris Silver’s rink, which also includes Ben Olson, that sits with a perfect 3-0 record so far after also defeating Ecole St. Joseph 10-3 last night and then Geraldton by a 6-1 count this morning. In girls’ action, meanwhile, Tory Beaudry’s Muskie rink has accumulated a 2-1 record so far. The squad opened with an 11-8 loss yesterday to the Rainy River Owls before rebounding with a 9-4 win over Geraldton. Then they won their match this morning 8-0 over St. Ignatius in just three ends.
