Fort Frances mayor Andrew Hallikas, centre, presented the staff at the United Native Friendship Centre with a certificate of recognition from the provincial government for their work as a not-for-profit during the government’s Non-profit Sector Appreciation Week held from February 12 to 16, 2024. The week celebrates non-profit sector organizations and workers for the jobs they do to help keep Ontario running. UNFC was one of several local organizations the mayor visited that week, as Hallikas noted that there were many deserving organizations in the area that he felt needed to be recognized for their efforts.
