Klyde Laplante, left, along with Gary Tolen, showed off the northern pike they caught while competing in the fish derby Saturday in conjunction with the 33rd-annual Nestor Falls Winter Carnival. The 30-inch pike was too big to be entered in the competition but Laplante was able to net another fish that resulted in a second-place finish.
