Weighing in at seven pounds, six oz., Elsie Faith Nighswander was the district’s New Year’s baby for 2012 after being born Jan. 5 at 12:19 p.m. at La Verendrye Hospital here. Proud parents are David and Pauline Nighswander of Barwick, along with big sister, Sylvia, three. Ironically, David was the district’s New Year’s baby 33 years ago when he was born in Emo.
