The Kemira Paper Dragons of International Falls, left, and the First City Paddling Club of Bemidji, Mn. battled to a close finish in the first preliminary race in the mixed division Saturday afternoon at the International Boundary Waters Dragon Boat Club’s inaugural FMG Ice Dragon Challenge held on the ice behind La Place Rendez-Vous here. The Bemidji crew won the heat with a time of 38.45 seconds and later claimed the bronze medal.
