Hundreds of people participated in an awareness walk and inclusive pow wow put on by several local agencies and organizations on Friday, September 30, 2022, the National Day for Truth and Reconcili- ation. The walk began at the Sorting Gap Marina in Fort Frances and proceeded along the waterfront to the Nanicost grounds in Couchiching First Nation. Following a free lunch and speeches from area el- ders and survivors of the residential school system, the pow wow got underway, showcasing dancers and participants from around the region. A fish fry feast was also provided.
