The old and the new collided on this play as veteran blueliner Sam McKinnon ended up getting the better of rookie goalie candidate Ziggy Skead during the first day of tryouts for the Muskie girls’ hockey team Tuesday at the Ice For Kids Arena. The hopefuls have a day off today before facing two more sessions tomorrow and Saturday to select this season’s team.
