Above, five-year-old Hope McCormick (left), who was named this years’ mini-queen on Sunday afternoon, was crowned by last year’s queen, Brooklyn Beckett, during the pageant that took place at Point Park as part of the Canada Day celebrations. Her love of the colour pink and eating spaghetti, as well as building igloos and playing with friends, is what won over the judges for McCormick. The newly-crowned mini-royals each received a crown and banner, and both will have the opportunity to take part in parades and other special events over the next year. Below, this year’s Mini-King, four-year-old Grayson Idrisson, left, was crowned by last year’s king, Declan Scott, after the competition Sunday afternoon at Point Park. There were a total of nine contestants (five girls and four boys), who each received a goodie bag after answering questions on stage from event organizer Melissa Gushulak.
