Those participating in the inaugural “Dash 4 Diabetes” on Saturday set out on the 5K walk/run over the Rainy Lake Nordic Ski Club’s trails at Rocky Inlet. About 100 people attended the event, which also included a 1K run, lunch, and a presentation by local youth with diabetes. More than $2,500 was raised through donations for the “Community Chest,” to be specifically used for people afflicted with the disease.
