Carrying signs with messages of hope and support, dozens turned out for the “Mental Health and Addictions Awareness Walk” yesterday morning from Couchiching First Nation to Fort Frances. From young ones being pushed along in strollers to elders, many came out to promote “Living the Good Life” (Mino-Bimaadiziiwin). The walk was organized by the local United Native Friendship Centre and Couchiching Treatment and Support Services, and was followed up with a “mini-health fair” at the Circle of Life Centre, where people could learn about various addictions and mental health services available locally.
