Ron Yellowega grabbed a burger from Manitoulin Transport’s Greg Kalesnikoff yesterday during Manitoulin’s customer appreciation charity BBQ. Visitors were invited to put their names into a draw for some prizes, and were able to buy a hotdog or hamburger lunch, with all proceeds from the food going to the Special Olympics by way of the Voyageur Lions Club, and the “I Am Awesome” self-esteem retreat for young women, which is partnered with the OPP Youth Foundation. Each organization also received a $1,000 donation from Manitoulin Transport. Terminal manager Michelle Johnson said that any unsold food would be donated to the Fort Frances Family Centre.
