Nyla Henry, left, and Marie Gregory were among the members of the Cabin Country Quilt Guild who gathered at the Fort Frances Volunteer Bureau on Saturday to help make “touch quilts” for the local Alzheimer Society. Meanwhile, Kim Roy (top right) concentrated on sewing together squares of different textures and materials in order for the quilts to provide sensory stimulation to those with Alzheimer’s disease or another type of dementia. The quilting bee was held as part of Alzheimer Awareness Month, which will culminate with the organization’s annual “Forget Me Not” dinner Jan. 31 at La Place Rendez-Vous.
