Madison Weir of the BDO Stars tried to knock the puck away from Janelle Kaemingh (NorFab Flames) before she could get a shot on Stars’ goalie Kate Parsons during the Stars’ 8-0 win Friday afternoon in the opening game of the Fort Frances Girls’ Hockey Association’s Bantam/Midget tournaments. The Stars went on to capture third place in the Bantam division, with the Warroad 14U’s rallying to beat Fort Frances Skates & Blades 4-3 in the final. The Midget finals saw the Thunder Bay Sabres take the gold with a 2-0 win over the Dryden Talons.
