Loggers Competition makes a comeback

After a hiatus, the Logger Competition made a successful comeback at the Emo Fair.

What could be a better way to get the blood pumping on a Friday morning than by taking in the return of the Logger’s Competition at the Emo Fairgrounds as part of the Rainy River Valley Agricultural Fall Fair? The popular event returned following a COVID induced hiatus last year, and a dozen competitors battled it out for the top spot across several events including the chair carve, two-man crosscut, axe chop and axe throw. Little ones in the stand were also invited down to try their hands at some modified events. Jason Caul was crowned the champion at this year’s event, while Bob Petkau was the rookie champion and Vaughan Wilson received the Safe Logger award.
