Local girls’ hockey players were able to learn and enjoy the sport over the weekend here. The Fort Frances Girls’/Women’s Hockey Association hosted an Esso Fun Day program in conjunction with the IIHF’s World Girls’ Hockey Weekend on Saturday morning at the ’52 Canadians Arena that helped to bring the game to girls who may have never played it before. A total of eight new girls tried hockey for the very first time while 27 FFGWHA members were on hand to help out.
