Learning about disabilities

Lauren Penney, a Grade 4 student at St. Francis School, wheeled her way around pylons toward the basketball net as she and her classmates learned about disabilities by “Walking in the Shoes of Someone Else.” Moving through 10 different stations, the purpose of the lesson was to build acceptance and inclusion of individuals with exceptionalities. The activity was linked to a book the class is reading entitled “Wonder.”
