Defenceman Nate Drobnick was presented with the Bev Kotnik Community Involvement Award by Lakers’ president Milt Strachan. The award, which is a tribute to the much-loved member of the Lakers’ board of directors who succumbed to cancer back in 2016, is presented to a player each season for their contributions as a community volunteer.
