‘Keep It Hanging Around’

hanging painting

Duane Hicks

Museum volunteer Darlene Mitchell made sure this painting by local artist Signe Green was hanging straight this morning as part of the new “Keep It Hanging Around” silent auction at the Fort Frances Museum. Green is the grandmother of Mitchell’s son-in-law, Bob Green. The public is urged to drop in Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., look around, and place bids on the sheets. Then starting on Oct. 10, the sheets will be collected each Tuesday, so people can drop by often to check on their bids. Donations of gently-used art still are being accepted. The auction is to raise funds to refurbish the “Owandem.”
