Arielle Marie Shana Andrushuk was the first baby born in Rainy River District for 2015. Though not due for another few weeks, she made her surprise arrival at La Verendrye Hospital here at 9:34 p.m. on Jan. 2, weighing in at seven pounds. Proud parents are Alex Andrushuk and Brayden Baldwin of Fort Frances. As the New Year’s baby, the family will be provided gifts and gift baskets courtesy of Shoppers Drug Mart, Fort Floral, Canada Safeway, Pharmasave, Ink Spotz Apparel+, Curvy Chick, and the Cabin Country Quilt Guild.
