Impressive aircraft

This Ministry of Natural Resources CL-415 Bombardier Canadair waterbomber—one of nine in the province—was a very popular attraction Saturday at the sixth-annual “Fly-in Drive-in BBQ” at the Fort Frances Airport. While only a few pilots flew in for the event, over a 180 people came out to have a bite to eat, and check out planes, classic cars and motorcycles, and radio-controlled airplanes. The 908 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron cooked food for the event, as well as played music and did demonstrations. —Duane Hicks photo
