A Common Goldeneye was spotted taking an icy swim, during the 121st Christmas Bird Count, organized by the Rainy River Valley Field Naturalists. Participants spotted 28 spe- cies and 1627 individuals. If you missed the bird count, you can still volunteer to participate in the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas Survey starting in the coming weeks.
