Former NHL’er Mike Allison spoke to seven-year-old Ashtyn Thomson yesterday during the “Human Library” event at the Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre. Thomson “checked out” Allison, the human “book,” before heading over to the arena for his practice with the Times Tigers. Other human “books” included local centenarian Frances Shelfantook, Confederation College student Jones Samuel from Nigeria, residential school survivor Dick Bird, war bride Pam Oliver, and First Nations educator Donna Chief.
