St. Francis students Garrett Woods and Daniel Vanderbrand held up the hearts they received on the school’s “Spirit Day” on Tueday. The hearts—given in exchange for donations—are part of the “Hearts and hands for Haiti” Lenten project taking place across the Northwest Catholic District School Board. Having already raised funds through a pancake breakfast on Shrove Tuesday, students there plan to continue raising money to help earthquake relief efforts in Haiti through the “Free the Children” program.
