Cassandra Moffitt (5) of Fort Frances and her jubilant companions on the Rainy River Community College women’s volleyball team savoured winning a second-set point in their match against the Itasca Vikings (Grand Rapids, Min.) last night at RRCC. The Voyageurs took down the Vikings in their best-of-five MCAC North Division regular-season opener by a 3-0 margin (25-23, 25-23, 25-14). RRCC travels to Grand Rapids to play Itasca and the St. Cloud Tech Cyclones in a pair of non-divisional games tomorrow, then hosts the Fond du Lac Thunder in regular-season action on Saturday at noon.
