Getting a leg up

20061108_donation

Joan Taylor, left, Ed Haglund, and Betty Newman, of the Royal Canadian Legion’s Br. #29 Poppy Fund committee, along with Larry Cousineau, chair of the Riverside Foundation for Health Care, and Wendy Derendorf of the Poppy Fund committee, surrounded nurse manager Glenna Morand as she demonstrated the new CPM (Continuous Passive Motion) machine purchased with a $5,000 donation from the Poppy Fund. The CPM machine is for people who’ve had knee replacement surgery to help the new knee go through a range of motion. The donation was made possible through local poppy sales—the funds from which stay in the community.
