McKenna Begin of the Fort Frances Juniors, with father and third base coach Kevin Begin encouraging her in the background, blazed around the hot corner to eventually score on Sara Jackson’s two-run triple in the third inning of last night’s game in the Rainy River District Women’s Fastball League against the Red Gut Babes at VanJura Park. The Juniors, with just one win on the season, nearly pulled off a remarkable upset against the two-time defending champion Babes before settling for a 15-15 tie.
