‘Frozen’ excerpt

Heather Latter

Mary Casanova, an award-winning children’s author from Ranier, Mn., read from her newest book, “Frozen,” yesterday evening at the Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre. Set during the 1920s on Rainy Lake, “Frozen” tells the story of Sadie Rose, whose mother died under strange circumstances the same night she was found—unable to speak—in a snowbank. Casanova also briefly talked about her career, as well as read her children’s book, “Utterly Otterly Night,” for the young ones on hand.
