Trees across the street from the Fort Frances Times office and many trees around town were sporting a coat of white hoar frost this morning. Hoar frost forms when water vapor comes into contact with a solid surface that is below freezing. The last few days have seen extreme cold warnings in place and overnight lows into the -30s C. The weather is set to warm up over the next few days with highs in the negative single digits by Friday.
