Tess Coish of Tess’s Kitchen here baked 4,000 cookies for groups, workplaces, and individuals in time for Valentine’s Day last week. She also received help with icing and bagging the cookies from numerous individuals. This year’s charity cookie campaign was dedicated to the late Samantha (Sam) Pearson, who passed away on Jan. 28. The campaign raised about $4,500 which, as per Pearson’s wishes, will be donated to the Fort Frances Community Chest, the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, and the Fort Frances Community Garden Kids’ Garden Club. The cookies also were bagged with tags urging people to become an organ donor.
