Mayoral candidate Roy Avis, left, chatted with Albert Weir and Bruce Caldwell during the seventh-annual “Fly-in Drive-in BBQ” on Saturday morning at the Fort Frances Airport. A record crowd of 400 people came out to the airport that day to have breakfast or lunch, check out the garage sale, and look at the eight planes that flew in from Thunder Bay and Winnipeg. The local 908 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron also was on hand serving up food, holding the garage sale, playing music, and going through various drills throughout the day.
