Hermina Fletcher, left, released a monarch butterfly at the Legion Park here yesterday afternoon as her granddaughter, Caitlin Fletcher, looked on. The pair were among the 40 adults and children who participated in the Rainy River District Palliative Care Volunteers’ inaugural butterfly release. The event, billed as an opportunity to reflect on the departed and those who survive them, saw a total of 48 of the beautiful insects released.
