First lap

People read the luminaries as they walked the first lap around the track at Fort High together on Friday evening to kick off the annual “Relay for Life” here. The event raised $81,213—a record for Fort Frances. Some 22 teams participated in the event, walking all night to honour and remember cancer survivors and victims. They also were kept busy all night participating in activities such as Zumba, frozen T-shirt contests, head shaving, and “Relay Idol.”
